Got an interesting email from my sponsor in Heritage Makers and also my sister in law yesterday about the 3 fatal blogging mistakes. Hope I haven't made those, but since she is the only person reading this I probably have time to learn how to do the best blogsite ever.
What makes people read and follow a blog?
Is is the artwork? I am attracted to one blog because of that but I don't really think that's all there is to it, the reading material in this is rather mundane. Pretty much what you hear every other mother on facebook saying, so I don't think pretty artwork is all there is to it.
What is going to grab someone's attention and make them come back for more?
Hmmm, maybe those "to be continued" stories are the right way to go. But you still need an interesting hook for these stories so people will come back.
Instructions for doing a task that other people want to learn about?
Another possibility. For this you need passion and somehow let the passion bleed through your words so people are drawn to the blog. If you love something, chances are someone else does too. Still no ideas on how to get those people here in the first place. What good does passion do if noone is looking at it?
Oh yeah, the 3 fatal blogging mistakes:
